Our Mikaela's reign as queen of the household is quickly approaching an end - we're expecting baby #2 in early December. Goodness. I'm completely out of creativity and my vocabulary bank is currently low in fund. KFK has been so worried about my deteriorating brain that he went to the library the other day to borrow me a book. I guess I better start reading. Hopefully I'll be able to write something more substantial next time I log on. haha.
I don't think a lot of people follow this blog any more since I had abandoned it for so long. But for some reason, I felt like coming back tonight to blog about something completely mindless, yet a bit entertaining. It's a little past my bedtime, since our little daughter opens her eyes at the crack of dawn, but I needed to get this silliness out of my system!
I was watching "I Didn't Know I was Pregnant" on TLC tonight and one of the stories really stood out. So this woman was told that she was infertile at the age of 19. Faced with that reality, she decides not to use protection after getting married. Then, at the age of 35, after experiencing 8 months of mood swings and weight gain but no other symptoms, she finds herself in the ER one night with severe abdominal and back pain. The doctor examines her and sends her home with some pain killers for a "tissue mass in the left side of her back". Two days later, the woman experiences the same pain again but this time, her husband takes her to the chiropractor. The chiropractor notices the "ball of tissue" in her back, adjusts her back, and gives her a bottle for an enema and tells her that her bowels were obstructed. He advises her to try using the bathroom. That night, the woman suddenly wakes up with an urge to PUSH. So she runs to the bathroom and pushes with all her might. A few minutes later, she calls out to her husband, "Honey! It's OUT! I pushed it OUT! Man, that was a BIG one!"
Needless to say, that "big one" turned out to be a little baby girl lying in the toilet and looking up at her. Thankfully, the girl suffered no permanent damage and is now a healthy little 3-year-old.
I had to cover my mouth throughout the whole story! I wish KFK was home tonight - I needed a good punching bag as I was watching this thing!
I looked up at the clock and realized that exactly one year ago, at this very moment, I asked for epidural...at 4:20AM the next morning, our Mikaela was born. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate her Birthday last Sunday. Below is one of my favorite pictures from the party as well as a pic of the little one enjoying her cake back at home. :) More to come later!
